Suggestion: Site supported auction based selling option.
Could be either built into LS marketplace or as part of the forum as a whole and used on all supported game platforms.
I think in the case of LS it would lead to an increase in trading that among other benefits would make the game more accessible to new players.
Open source auction software options exist that could be implemented into the forum. Either thru a percent cut and/or listing fees it could generate a forum gold sink.

Side Question:Is there any functional reason for the marketplace reseting along with ladder season?

All sales on JSP are already auction based by default. Whether the seller posts a bin or reserve doesnt change that fact

Voted yes because I think the idea is a good one. Implementation anytime soon is not that likely but it's nice to imagine if it could happen.

To your side note--marketplace resetting kind of sucks... I usually lose a good amount of fees for random stuff I list over 20 fg each season. I'm sure others lose more... however, one reason it might be in there in the first place is that item prices do change a lot based on what people have unlocked. To me that could go either way, but I kind of like it because it does seem special to open a game in a new season and see a clean marketplace, everyone is level one with no unlocks yet--nothing left over from last season, etc :)

But any buyer can pull out of a offer before the actual trade.
Doesn't make it an actual auction where your offer locks in and if you are the final offer at time, your gold must go to the other person.

IF there was an actual auction system on the marketplace new players would be able to sneak in better gear cheaper and higher tier items would sell more expensive because in the current small community we all are afraid to outbid eachother. Bid wars would happen more often via the anonymity of the market place. Not a bad idea. It would be a cool option to have.

I strongly encourage blind auctions. Sets a good market as well.

If this was implemented would we be able to set a time limit and a bin still?

I think adding it to Mp would be great idea. Like Bob888 said. Would add some anonymousity in our small community.

High value items may actually sell. where as, lower 80-90ee gear could be sold to newer ppl at a more reasonable price
