I had a friend build my computer about a year and a half ago. spent around 1200 on it not counting peripherals. but I have major lag problems with diablo 2 and it isn't my internet connection. I know the computer isn't top of the line, but it should be able to play a 20 year old game imo

the worst and most noticeable problem is long load times when exiting games. I'm talking 5+ seconds which makes it extremely hard to follow baal games as they fill up quickly with so few of them out there. my load in times are a little faster than that, but still slow. also have general stuttering here and there which is annoying but can be dealt with.

I really don't know shit about computers and my friend doesn't play diablo 2 so I thought i'd see if anyone had some suggestions here.

here are the specs I gathered from my computer:

Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500gb
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
AMD FX9(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor, 4000 MHz, 4 core(s), 8 logical processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
Running windows 10

not sure what else to list here, please tell me if more is needed and where to find it.

I've reformatted and the problems are still there. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

That computer should have no problems with D2.

For starters, why don't you go here: http://www.speedtest.net/ ...run a speed test and post the results.

like I said, it's not my internet. I originally played diablo 3 with this computer and had no problems. I play CoD on my ps4 with no problems as well.

What's your ping in channel on D2?

/e And do you play any other online games on the computer, now that you are having the problems with D2?
In other words, are you having similar problems with any other online games, played from the computer?

i don't play d3 anymore, but i play cod just as regularly as d2 and never have problems with it. so it's gotta be the computer. and it feels like the computer the way it stutters and takes forever to do shit, maybe the ssd?

ping around 70 in game. not sure how to see it in channel

Go to Device Manager and click on View > Show Hidden Devices, and tell me if you have any warnings. Or just post a screenshot.

/e Other thasn internet issues, which you don't seem to have, what we are left with is maybe you missed a driver, when you formatted and reinstalled... or it's Bnet having the usual trouble with it's servers.
