It was alright. Would have liked more stuff like the first challenge.

Absolutely love it. Better than the book, even.

Can agree with that. But i think they wanted more than just an action flick. And tbh thats why i think it was so good, it was a nice mixture of genres.

Loved the book, read it a few times. I'm going Friday at the latest to see it. I promised myself I'd see it when it was first announced, regardless of how fucking terrible it looked. I got hyped when they said Christopher Nolan was in contention to direct, and although I was heavily disappointed when it moved to Spielberg, I thought he might be able to do a decent enough job. First trailer ruined any possible expectations I have and I'm going into this with shit hope for it to be good. Hoping I'm wrong, but the trailers looked painfully bad.

Stop putting so much faith in what other people tell you. Watch a trailer, if it looks interesting just go see the movie.

And idk what critics or your friends said, because i honestly don't care. i watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it throughout.

Literally nothing you said makes sense.

I just said that people seem to disagree with you.... which they do, not sure why this confuses you. I'm going to go see it regardless, said that too, but hey :bonk: I shouldn't expect anything else.

Seems like it might be one of those ones you really should see in theaters, or at least wait for an HD copy to be released, since it is so heavily reliant on the visual aspect.

Finished the book today, again, pretty fucking good. Went & saw the movie tonight...& I was very disappointed. It’s incredibly different than the book, & not in a good way. I think all of the challenges & Easter eggs were different & way less in depth. The movie was much more light hearted & happy go lucky compared to the book, where IOI murders one of the kids irl, for example

Worth watching I guess, but the book is far superior, imo

They really took that out..... how fucking hard is it to put that in? It also gives the whole thing a sense of having real consequences vs being just virtual bullshit when people are actually getting offed. Weak as fuck.
