Pretty sure there has been one.

I plan on seeing it on thursday, but I have no doubt in my mind it will be a gigantic cgi pile of crap

Pretty sure you will be surprised.

The trailer didn't give out much of the movie. It's a nice concept with a good plot and decent acting.

Seems like pretty much everyone I know who's seen it, and critics are in disagreement with you on this. One of the big complaints I saw from critics was a too excessive amount of 80s nostalgia and if that's literally the only problem, the movie could actually end up being great. I'm guessing they're going to fuck up on a couple of key things which make the entire thing seem pointless though. One particular section of the book is interesting and a good read, but would be maddeningly boring, especially in a visual spectacle like this. I'm guessing they cut around it almost entirely, which is going to hurt A LOT, since I can't think of any other way for them to keep the stakes as high without that section. We'll see. Tried to go last night, and again tonight but the wife keeps telling me she'll come and then bailing at the last minute. Just going to go see it solo by the end of the week if she won't finally go.

Stop putting so much faith in what other people tell you. Watch a trailer, if it looks interesting just go see the movie.

And idk what critics or your friends said, because i honestly don't care. i watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it throughout.

Sef speaking on something he clearly shouldn't be, nothing new here folks. Film is a hotter pile of garbage than "Black Panther".

Read the book a few years back. Was terrible mediocre, like Twilight with pop culture references. No huge desire in watching this movie. Only interested because it's Spielberg family entertainment. (Hopefully)

Usually agree with their opinion, I guess I'll just wait for the movie to hit streaming services.
