So i just bought a 2003 dodge neon 2.0 5spd and had a key made for it but the programmer cant put the code on the key due to the transponder or the computer so im asking if theres a way around the chipped key and if not can i go to a salvage yard, find a car with simular specs, and pull the transponder or computer and it should work?

you need a working key to program new ones, or you have to go to the DEALER and pay them your firstborn to program it VIA the VIN

The way the guy did it b y pulling out the tumbler, making a regular metal key, then once he tested it that it fit he cut it into a chipped key. Then his computer told him the steps and the code that need to be put on the key. the problem was that when he got to the step of puting the code on the key it would not take. He said it was due to the chip reader that goes around the ignition or the computer.
I dont know much about the chipped keys but the guy that did this seemed like he knew what he was doing and made all the keys for the people that bought the other impounded cars.

why did you buy a car that dosent have any keys?

all of them didnt unless it was a bmw or a city car. i got that car for $400 and a 1995 e36 i got for $600. The cars went for more this auction because everybody was government rich

400$ for a neon seem way overpriced
