After a police chase where speeds reached over 100 mph,Inerstate highway 75 the suspect pulled over or was spun out. When the officer approached the car, the perp jumped him and overpowered the officer.

Traffic stopped as people watched with horror as the struggle took a bad turn for the officer. The officer couldn't reach his radio to call for help as he was fighting the perp and trying to hold his own weapon away from the perp. The perp was alternatively choking and striking the officer and it was feared that the officer's weapon would be used against him.

The Concealed weapon citizen gave asked the officer if he needed assistance. The officer, replied "yes, Shoot him. Shoot him".

The citizen then commanded the perp to get off the officer, "Get off, or I'll shoot."

The perp didnt comply. The citizen then commanded a second time. "Get off or YOU WILL BE SHOT"

As the perp struck the officer again, he was shot.

The officer called for back up, along with approximately 15 separate 911 calls, and other officers were on their way.

The citizen who shot the perp calmly walked back to his car, and stayed there until the police showed up, whereupon he surrendered his weapon and himself peacefully to authorities.

I can't find anything that suggests this story is an accurate representation of the incident shown in the video. Quite possibly a fiction.

Feel free to post evidence to the contrary though.

E/ revising that to almost definitely fictional after further searching. There are two entirely different stories attributed to the same video.

Strother eventually came to a stop on an off-ramp and attacked Bardes. Passer-by Ashad Russell told police, according to the report, that Strother jumped "over the driver's door" of Bardes' patrol car, "landed on top of him" and began "beating" him violently.
