The plastic used in applications like holding stuff we eat is manufactured such that it is very chemically inert (like Endless pointed out) and very very low solubility, so it's not even going to pass the lumen regardless.

To be honest it's just going to get balled up in your feces and excreted without you ever knowing.

On the other hand, soda bottles contain terrphthlalates which can mimic human hormones. I would avoid carbonated beverages in plastic bottles
