2k is 1080p...



As long as it's same size, speed, latency it SHOULD work theoretically, but there are lots of known compatibility issues when it comes to ram. Best bet is to buy from the same series by the manufacturer (eg, if you have ripjaws, get ripjaws, not vengeance)

But maybe 2k main monitor and then 1080 for multibox monitor

2k refers to the amount of horizontal pixels in the cinema industry, which is 2048 x 1080; same as 4k (4096 × 2160). Computer monitors are generally a bit difference aspect ratio, hence why you get 1920 x 1080 and 3840 x 2160; but it's the same overall pixel density.
