i never set a pin and had about 5 mil gold and about 5 mil gold worth of gear and runes taken off of my account.. do accounts get hacked frequently on this game?

Set a pin, keep a decent password, dont let anyone use your account, amd dont click any rs links.

Is there a certain way that it can be hacked other then clicking on rs links? cause never gave out password my password is fairly complicated and only osrs website i have been on is the official.



only been playing osrs for like 2 months and only have a 530 total level.. i don't think i really needed more atm... was more of a question of the security of the game not so much the amount lost. lost 1k fg like nothing..

Your coins won't magically disappear because of something on Jagex' end if that's what your asking. 100% either you clicked a bad link, maybe got keylogged, maybe you let a kid on your computer and he went crazy clicking adds on small game sites (site like miniclip etc. with a bunch of minigames), maybe merking off one night accidentally hit an add

Maybe you had work done on your account but never changed your password?
Doesn't sense that you would just "get hacked" without going to any suspicious sites or getting keylogged or something.
Out of curiosity, do you use any third-party osrs clients like OSBuddy? (Not that I'm saying Osbuddy is suspect I'm just curious)
