Does anyone have any knowledge of why my bench press would magically drop 40-50 lbs over 2 weeks?
For about 10 months I always did 3x8 on everything in the gym, my body weight was 188 and I was benching 265 for max.
Then I moved and was out of the gym for about 4 days and got a new membership at a new gym. I have been hitting it for about 2.5 weeks and my max in bench is like 210 now. It feels like 2 plates is crushing me.
However...
On decline bench I am able to get up 225 like 5 times and incline bench I'm able to do around 245.
My body weight is now 184, and I really can't figure out why my flat bench dropped tremendously. I can do 185 10x no issue still.
The only thing that has really changed is I changed my reps from 3x8 of everything to 5x 12,10,8,6,4 pyramids. And I now go to the gym around 7-8pm instead of my normal 11 am.
