Basically if you have NEVER seen the TV show - Monkey, you won't know what this show is about, basically it is Forbidden Kingdom about the Monkey King being released from the stone.

The show is basically just a fill in show, it seems decent enough, but, they tried to keep the same humor and failed in some areas, the fight scenes are average, just watch for yourself. To me it wasn't great.

No, TV series based off of an old black and white TV series. Don't think Donnie Yen or Fay Yun were even born then, or if they were, they would have been around 7 yrs old maybe.
