we were thinking of getting just the high speed internet plan, and dropping the cable. and use roku / amazon live tv + roku subscriptions (5-12$/m/ per channel) ---- but it would actually be only be negligble price difference because of all the channels my mom watches. and if we had our own modem/router it would be even more negligble (-10$ rent fee)
infinity is not hat bad really (if you watch a lot of cable)
btw, you can cancel phone service now. we tried last year before we moved and they wouldn't let us. they said it was included/mandatory. now they have some "legacy department" phone # the customer representative gives you, if you are a long term customer. and they do it there, saved $20 just for that. however, i have no idea if all customers can do that, we been with them for almost a decade
xfinity is cold diarrhea in a bowl of cereal, awful service, unavoidable soft bandwidth cap that makes the idea of completely dropping cable in favor of streaming somewhat tenuous. Also they don't give me the speed I pay for and I don't have the energy to constantly bitch them out over the phone just to temporarily get it.
Also cable is significantly worse than streaming because of all the ads, the only place you won't find ads is on demand for premium channels. Can't even skip the non-premium channel ads whether it's on demand or not
i hate this crony capitalism with a passion
government enforced monopolies out the ass
