People standing up for their, or someone else’s rights is far more important than showing off a pointless military parade, which I am sure will cost a pretty penny.

gay pride parades are much cheaper. just a permit processing cost and maybe some police presence. I know a lot of organizations get cops to do things probono or hire them as private security to get away from govt spending.

i'd rather eat that small cost than the fuel costs and transportation costs of a shit load of tanks and missiles on flatbeds so that we can show off what everyone in the world already knows. countries like NK show off missiles because we constantly underestimate their fire power. no one underestimates #1. this is in fact expensive lip service to the far right who prefer shows of force because they think this scares people and saves us from foreign engagements and drums up bland feelings of a pro military regime.

i thought you'd like the gays tho, they'd be standing next to you in an ISIS video and get the same treatment.

The parade is not to thank the military, I can promise you that. We already have a “holiday” to thank the military. You can thank the military every day in many ways if you want to.
