Dont let this discourage you, going from silver 1 into gold is annoying as fuck, took me like 6 tries in that series. Once i got into gold climbing felt easier i went from gold 5 to gold 1 really fast, judging by your games it'll probably be similar for you

Yea, I'm hitting that point where I second guess the role I'm playing because of a couple rough games, though I know changing things up would be a poor decision.

I'll keep rolling with Vel'koz, but I'm definitely not so seriously toying around with the idea of playing a strong objective control jungle because of how strong baron is right now, and I've had a streak of junglers that just wander around, never warding or contesting barons, dragons, or rift.

this is every single tier upgrade btw

b1/s1/g1/p1 are where a bunch of people are stuck because they can't consistently win 3/5 games

also as someone who has a lot of velkoz games, he's kind of hard to carry with because he does require structure

and in lower elos there is little to no structure, so characters with dashes and escapes are king

and THAT'S why you dodge instead of playing the role when you get your second choice.

Their jungle is 17-2 this season in ranked...Jesus. That makes me feel a little better. He was in my jungle from the get go, took all my camps, and got a kill every time he ganked top or bottom.

That was a completely brutal match to play through, lol.

I realize this sounds like excuses...it's mainly to make myself feel better after such an ass whooping. I played like absolute shit though.

Vel'koz is feeling pretty rough right now...seems like the meta is hyper mobility. Lots of Kai'sa, Irelia, and assassins.

May try to abuse my old main (Talon) until this non teamfight shit chills out.

You seem like one of those peopel that play for kda and don't play their champion to their fullest potential. The mechanics in silver 1 are so bad you could easily abuse the fuck outa them with how good you farm. I'm guessing you have pretty good positioning because you don't die a lot. Do you carry teamfights or just pick up kills from a distance?

There was a time where I played a bit of velkoz and I played super aggressive. He was a mid I could play in plat and I wouldn't be afraid to walk into peoples attack range because I know i had my e to stop them if they went at me, and more than likely my combo could kill them because of his passive.
I'm not sure how assertive your play is but it must not be very assertive if you can't get into gold...

It's not so much that I play for KDA as I realize how important it is to not die, since you can't do shit when dead. But I do often lead my team or am at least second in objective and turret damage. I'm probably not AS aggressive as I could be. I participate in most teamfights, as a huge DPS mage, but my positioning is such that most of my kills are picked up at range.

I could definitely stand to be a little more aggressive I suppose. You are right in that, if I can't get into gold, I'm doing something wrong.
