This monitor is on sale for $300 CAD.

I can only find a handful of reviews (like... 7 per website), and at least 1-2 state they've broken on people. Not a good sample size.

Seems like a great deal, anyone have any suggestions on how I could determine if it's on sale because of a high failure rate?

1 in 7 fail based on reviews is prob much less failure rate than 1 in 7. also just make sure u got a warranty with it. should not be an issue if its new and has warranty

Ordered two for $300 CAD each. Free s&h from Best Buy, and I can return in person if there's issues.

It ticks off a lot of boxes for me. The only thing I'm not sure about is how big the screens are. Otherwise:

- Resolution is 2560 x 1440
- IPS with 5ms delay
- LED backlit
- VESA mountable
- $300 CAD is a reasonable price
- thin bezel design is good

Will keep doing some research, don't like that I see two reviews on BestBuy saying they heard a "pop" and the monitor died 4-5 months down the road. Makes a protection plan almost look appealing...

Hmmm.

I wonder if Best Buy's service protection would cover any 1 of the 2 monitors.

Honestly if both go that's one thing, but if 1 goes it ruins a double-monitor setup.

Would halve the cost of a protection plan.

When I bought a similar spec Asus modle in 2013 with a bigger bezzle I paid more than double.

Oh tech.

Still using a 1080p from 2007 Asus monitor paired with my 1440p from 2013 never a single issue even shipped across the country when moving.

Everything Asus has been good to me

The protection plan is going to be tied to the serial number of the unit. So if you cover one, and the other fails, you aren't going to be able to use the plan on that one.

Almost got two for myself too. But would not fit on my desk with my big bookshelf speakers. I saw them at a bestbuy.ca tho and they look real good. Sure it's not 144hz, but it's IPS and 1440p and 300$ and in canaduh
