I have a pretty new pc and had this problem with my new benQ monitor, horizontal white lines going on and off my screen, sucks ass but I can't seem to fix it. I have read things on the web but couldn't find anything that would work,
What is the reason of those lines first of all?

Cheers

Yep, just need to buy a 60hz one. Should fix all your problems!

I remember I had screen tearing once, couldn’t figure it out. Turned out because I was running thru a receiver, it caused issues.

Check your HDMI cable. Make sure it’s the most up to date version. That actually was the cause of our tv blacking out every 10-120 seconds for 1 second at a time.

Check your graphics card too.

Horizontal white lines?

That's no screen tearing.

I once fixed my monitor that was having nearly invisible lines going upward continuously at about %30 of the screen by switching the cable. went from a vga converter thing to HDMI. I didn't know my monitor had that kinda potential at the time but the image was so crisp when I changed from vga and completely fixed the problem.

Using the OSD (On Screen Display) on the monitor itself, there is a setting where you can choose HDMI, DVI etc.

/e If you want to use and HDMI cable, you have to make sure that HDMI is chosen on the monitor.
