Your options suck. Most people in the US fall into social + fiscal freedom/libertarianism category (classical/true liberalism). No such option exists. Centrism is not a substitute.

I would say that that fits with right libertarianism, not centrism. There is some nuance there, and I probably should have put classical liberal in there, but it's perfectly easy to see classical liberalism as a centre-right ideology.

Classical liberalism is not a right wing ideology. It is the bedrock of western civilization. A belief in freedom of all to do what they will as long as they don’t cause harm to others. To say it’s right leaning neglects the social freedom aspect, such as gay rights, abortion, drugs, etc which are all permitted.

It's a right wing liberalism. Literally every classical liberal I know votes conservative. It's like a soft-right libertarianism.

You're right that there's some crossover with the left, but overall I think given my layout that it fits with the Conservative/Right Libertarianism choice. You're free to choose centrist if you prefer.

I mean, this is a pretty vague thing to say, but I disagree. Perhaps we could say liberalism more generally is what has constituted western political praxis.

liberalism has changed definition, classical liberalism is now most closely aligned with right-libertarian. Abortion is an issue that isn't agreed upon for all libertarians/classical liberals though. Freedom ends where killing another begins is the general idea against it

the main issue I have with the left is equality of outcome and identity/class based politics

Im hesitating between very soft and moderated left, words are very contextual anyway, that is a view from France. Voted Left-Liberalism or Social Democracy.
The best is probably to be realistic and to apply what is already working and make best countries in the world: moderated social democratic model.
Others ares fucked banana republics or repressive governement/mafia like oppression. Unfair, against my personal principles.

#describingthepoliticalspectrumasa2Dline

I'd describe myself as a social democrat in this poll, although I'm probably off-the-charts leftist compared to actual American social democrats. Unsure what option to pick.
