MSI already has fixed bios out. Been out for a bit, I got it when i put my ssd's in.
Iirc Meltdown and Spectre were only discovered in July 2017, and the info wasn't released until a lot later.
So check the date that the BIOS was released.
Like the latest BIOS for my ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R 2.0 motherboard was Aug 2016...so for my motherboard, the Meltdown/Spectre BIOS isn't out yet.
On a side note, there are supposed to be CPU microcode patches as well. ASt least for AMD they will be released as part of an OS update.
How Intel plans to do it, I haven't found out yet.
Microsoft is busy on all fronts, patching all they can.
I found a tool that can check if all facets of these two flaws are patched...the one circled in RED is the easiest, IMO, to use.
https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/Speculation-Control-e36f0050/view/Discussions/2I ran it on my comp (AMD) and this is what the results look like...
/e This "run" is after the Windows Update.
