Edit: Watched the first 2 minutes of the video on the previous page. Why are the dark rooms and corridors, with nearly zero source(s) of lighting, seemingly lit like a Christmas tree? =(
yet I know I'll still be buying it anyway, lol. Thank God they will hopefully have a chance to learn from this blunder (as far as the lighting goes, anyways... should be called, "Light Souls"), and won't make the same mistake with Semen Holes Demon Souls.

Most likely it is, and it wants to show as much emphasis as possible on the updated graphics. We can at least hope that there will be an option, or different settings, to allow us to choose how dark it is. If nothing else, just put the brightness at zero, or wear a blindfold with just small holes poked into it. Just enough so you can see your character and close to them, not to actually play blind.

The point of the game was the... "dark" atmosphere. I remember playing it and getting quite a few good jump scares out of that game, especially on the way to Nito.

I literally would have the platinum trophy, but I was stupid enough to drop the "Gravekeeper's Blade" where the bird... things... were, in an attempt to trade with them. Welp, I reloaded the game, and got kicked off the cliff before picking up the sword, and it was gone forever. Couldn't get another one, even with multiple NG+'s. Literally the last item needed, no cheating or guides.... was devastated. Took me months to get that far on my own.

I forgot how much fun that was! I hope they add an option to remove "Meta levels" from invasions, which the person can be invaded by levels way higher, or lower than them. Once you hit about 150 though anyway, there's literally almost no point in raising stats, aside from the occasional attunement slot.
