So did most critics and audience members. Hart and the Rock were actually good together, which is surprising. The story was all over the place, but those two together managed to make it work some how.
They work really well together.
What I want to know is how this movie came to be.
Did someone just go "let's remake Jumanji" or did someone actually have the idea for people to get pulled into a video game and some boardroom exec said "a game that is real, isn't that like Jumanji? Let's call it a Jumanji remake to have the name recognition".
I wonder if people would hate this movie as much as they do of it was a new thing and not a reimagining. If it wasn't attached to Jumanji would people be on with it just being a family fun movie?
Haven't seen it yet so I can't speak for it's quality, but I feel like studios trying to "reimagine" things to get the name recognition hurts more than it helps.
