so i bought a wifi stick since i cant go wired and its great i can stream 720p with it no disconnects or anything supposed to be good for 867down-400up
when i plug and play into windows it gets about 12mbit down and 50-60 up on a 50-50 plan
when i install the driver and stuff everything is good runs full speed ect ect i get my 50-50

after a while it randomly drops back down to like 12mb downd but always has the 50 up

how do i fix this or prevent it from happening?its like windows chooses to ignore the driver after so long
its an asus ac56 with the latest driver from their website and im using windows 10

e: yeah just reinstalled driver ran speed test 56.48/56.66
my last one before reinstal lwas like 12.3/56 lol

if it helps any i first noticed when my steam downloads were really slow...but i checked speed test was full speed but only getting 1-1.5mb on steam dl
is there a way that steam could be fucking with my wifi?

disable windows from over writting the driver.

Right click the Start button and select Control Panel.
Make your way to System and Security.
Click System.
Click Advanced system settings from the left sidebar.
Select the Hardware tab.
Press the Device Installation Settings button.
Choose No, and then press the Save Changes button.

Windows fire wall has nothing to do with drivers.
But it can stop or limit your connections if not configured correctly.
Chances are having 2 firewalls was your issue the second time around.

sooo again i had the issue windows refuses to let this work properly :wallbash:
so i did more research and found a guy who found a german microsoft forum talking about the solution
there is a newer realtek driver that you have to manually upgrade to that fixes the issue so fingers crossed it sticks because i got full speed once again
