I dont understand why people go for dog when a cow, chicken, fish etc is x10 better. Easier to farm and provides more meat and nutrients.

well yeah in times of extreme famine dogs are basically the second last thing to eat before cannibalism. Because dogs have a ton of utility and eating them is against your interests until you have nothing left.

The practice is going to die out one way or another. The reason: to raise a dog cattle you need meat. Producing meat or fishing by itself is very expensive. I think it's a delicacy for some sick fucks in south east asia just liking eating up monkey brains.
In reality, most people in those countries don't practice dog eating or the like.
