I've played classic, but never done a classic reset, so I'm not sure how much more difficult it could be, but I just can't imagine that it's any harder than xpac.... You can play through either of them completely naked with a full team if you know what you're doing.

Xpac you have way way way better gear. And you get experience faster. And you can gear your merch

I already said I'm not doing the reset this year due to time constraints.... Why would I play a version of D2 I have no interest in? Not to mention that experience = skill for these games. Pretty tough challenging someone to something they've never done though, that would surely be a satisfying victory for you.
