A woman who falsely claimed to The Washington Post that Roy Moore, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Alabama, impregnated her as a teenager appears to work with an organization that uses deceptive tactics to secretly record conversations in an effort to embarrass its targets.

In a series of interviews over two weeks, the woman shared a dramatic story about an alleged sexual relationship with Moore in 1992 that led to an abortion when she was 15. During the interviews, she repeatedly pressed Post reporters to give their opinions on the effects that her claims could have on Moore’s candidacy if she went public.

The Post did not publish an article based on her unsubstantiated account. When Post reporters confronted her with inconsistencies in her story and an Internet posting that raised doubts about her motivations, she insisted that she was not working with any organization that targets journalists.

But on Monday morning, Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas, an organization that targets the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups. The organization sets up undercover “stings” that involve using false cover stories and covert video recordings meant to expose what the group says is media bias.

James O’Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas who was convicted of a misdemeanor in 2010 for using a fake identity to enter a federal building during a previous sting, declined to answer questions about the woman outside the Project Veritas office, a storefront in Mamaroneck, N.Y., on Monday morning shortly after the woman walked inside.

“I am not doing an interview right now, so I’m not going to say a word,” O’Keefe said.

Must be exhausting to lie as much as O'keefe does. Gotta admire the dedication though, and the people that are still gullible enough to believe something he says? takes a special kind.

It's like dogs; small ones are the most dangerous in this kind of situation.
Lmk alt-right - heili heilo - groups trying to compromize honest medias...

btw

"
Project Veritas, whose stated mission is "to investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions in order to achieve a more ethical and transparent society."
"

"
In August 2014, O'Keefe dressed up as Osama bin Laden and crossed the US–Mexico border in Texas in both directions to "show that our elected officials were lying to the American people" about border security. The incident was cited by U.S. Senator John McCain in Congressional hearings.

Project Veritas and the Trump cult have a naive belief that outstanding, reputable news organizations like the Washington Post will just uncritically accept information which damages Trump or other Republicans. That's the narrative you guys are running with for Roy Moore's accusers. This story is a great refutation of that.

And for people with rational views of the media, this just confirms to us what we already know.

hit the cult crutch within the first 6 words, expected

ignoring a troll is something that should be expected of a ‘news organization’ - not a commendable, praiseworthy action but hey, move the goalposts by a few years everything changes.
according to snarky lefty liberals: wapo and project vertias are peers to be compared.

e: exactly what is meant by ‘you guys are running with’ because its unlikely anyone here is voting in the Alabama senate race.

What I want to know is why anyone believes an article written by a media source, that has been accused of fake news? An UN-verifiable story, I might add.

They didn't ignore a troll... they vetted a potential source, and that source was found not to be credible.

Strawman.

It's irrelevant whether you vote in Alabama or not. The Trump cult thinks the Moore accusers are lying either for political reasons or financial reasons, and that WaPo was happy to report their lies without proper vetting. That's how you guys can say with a straight face you support someone who tried to bang a 14 year old when he was in his thirties.
