Okay then :)
Of course I was talking about antivirus and OS updates, not the daily 12+ Acrobat reader updates :D
updates can actually create vulnerabilities.. remember the CCleaner fiasco back in September? That's an extreme example where the malware was actually in the new version but still relevant. Driver updates have also bricked ssd's from samsung and gpu's in the past, no reason to fix something that isn't broken. Any time you're downloading an update, or anything in fact, even if it's Acrobat Reader (people still use that?) you're opening a window to a possible threat, so it should be done sparingly, not
all the time.
and antiviruses are for moms and grandparents... not so relevant to me or most people who have common sense, and only win10 needs auto updates because it's full of intentional holes to leak data to microsoft, constantly spewing your information out into the internet, of course microsoft has to keep moving the holes so no one else uses them. Best thing is to just not use windows 10. I only update my 7 via individual kb's as needed, i.e if an application requires an entrypoint i don't have, I can find the patch that implemented it and install it on its own.
Don't use Spywindows 10 and you will never need autoupdates
secure your system
don't trust anyone else to.
