What are your guys' opinions on the impact of the franchise on the league?

I live in Vegas myself and actually work in a sports bar on the Strip, so I can say that people are pretty excited about the team overall. More importantly, people seem to give a shit about hockey overall, which is awesome. Just today at the mall I noticed there's a dedicated hockey store which sells mainly Knights shit but also stocks Ducks, Kings, Penguins, etc., so that's really cool to see.

One negative impact is that certain carriers black out Kings, Sharks, Ducks, etc. games because this isn't their "market" anymore, which is a bitch, I loved being able to reliably watch every Ducks game.

Haven't gone to a home game yet so I can't speak to the nature of home games but I'll be hitting up the November 5th game against my Ducks. From what I've seen against the Blues, Red Wings, Kings, etc. is that the other team's fans fill the arena more than Knights people, but that's fair.

I wonder how well this team will do when they inevitably play to their sill level and play sub .500 hockey.

I'll probably make a "fan thread" with the bold and such for them just to post miscellaneous shit there.

Why do they call them the Vegas golden knights.
And not “Las” Vegas golden knights?

Did not know you were from Vegas. Cool.

In terms of teams success if they can keep winning at home and keep a .500 away record, could contend for the wild card spot.
Their future also looks bright, because of all the draft picks they have accumulated. They might even trade some of them for some depth later on. Some bad luck with goalies right now, but they've pulled through without trades.
I'm happy for them. They are the major sports draw right now before the city can land another major sports franchise (should be in 2-3 years?).
If they could land a playoff spot in these first 2-3 years they might have a future after this honeymoon period is over.
