Because I'm warning you that laptops with dual cores are going to be shit, especially when it's fucking 2017.

And you continue to insist I should "enjoy" my meal. Which infers you don't care about my opinion about laptops and how a dual core will be laggy, which also means you don't care about your daughter's experience on the computer.

If I had a daughter, i'd make sure I buy her something that doesn't fucking lag, thank you very much.

I would look in areas like these...

Think, 4 core or better, Intel CPU, 8GB of RAM or better, SSD+HDD would be the best choice for storage, but might not fit your budget.

For 500 might get a used high end notebook that odd a few models old. That will out last and out perform a cheaper brand new one.

Used laptops are a lose-lose situation...especially for a 13 yr old kid.
I have no idea what the OP's daughter is like. If she breaks everything she touches...then maybe get a series of cheaper used laptops. If she is a careful person, I would go with new and a better warranty.
