You are correct. A lot of people avoid them for this reason, but the price point on them for me makes sense. When dealing with something like a monitor especially. We'll use newegg for instance just because I know their policy, you get 90 days to return the item. 90 days of testing on a monitor IMO is plenty of time. If you notice no issues with the monitor after testing it that long, I'd say that monitor is good to go.
My previous triple monitor setup were all re-manufactured, and all three of these XB270's are also re-mans from newegg, I saved 600$ and they are so old now that a new monitor warranty would've already expired anyway. It's something that should be considered and up to the purchaser to decide if the risk is worth it, which I why I posted the information here.
