Re-manufactured monitors seem to be a solid way to go as long as whoever you're buying from has a good warranty policy. When I bought my XB270HU BPRZ's. there was a lot of complaints of backlight bleed on them. I purchased them re-manufactured from newegg for like 200$ cheaper, and haven't had an issue with any of them.

We call that luck.
Refurbished and open boxes have higher returns and fail rates.
Not always does it flop but you assume the risk buying it.

Ive never seen the same warranty on either version buying new.
Its that way for a reason.

You are correct. A lot of people avoid them for this reason, but the price point on them for me makes sense. When dealing with something like a monitor especially. We'll use newegg for instance just because I know their policy, you get 90 days to return the item. 90 days of testing on a monitor IMO is plenty of time. If you notice no issues with the monitor after testing it that long, I'd say that monitor is good to go.

My previous triple monitor setup were all re-manufactured, and all three of these XB270's are also re-mans from newegg, I saved 600$ and they are so old now that a new monitor warranty would've already expired anyway. It's something that should be considered and up to the purchaser to decide if the risk is worth it, which I why I posted the information here.

Don't really have an absolute budget, but I don't really have interest in gaming above 60 fps or larger monitors (desk space limitations). 1080p ultra is kindv'e my goal. I currently have a Dell S2340M, and I like it, but I hear the ultrasharps look better and the idea of ultrawide is appealing to me.

No shit? That's the entire point of buying refurbished.
