Hey Guys,

This is my old pc link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DN49CJ

Since then I have upgraded the GPU to a 1070 and added a SSD. What would you recommend that I upgrade next?

How much would you like to spend and what do you do with your PC?

I'd be fine spending $700ish but can be more if necessary. I mostly just play games. League, CoD, Destiny 2 and whatever other good games come out.

Oh that's more than you'll have to spend. Do you want bang for your buck or the best you can get?

Is there a happy medium? I don't think I necessarily need the best out there, but I'd like to not have to upgrade for a couple of years.

I recommend going an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (6 core/12 thread) and overclocking it to ~3.8ghz with 16GB of DDR4-3000+mhz RAM. This is the best price:peformance. I would take what you save from this (compared to the other options) and start saving for a new 1440p monitor. A 1070 will not be amazing at 1440p, but it'll be pretty dang good.

Other options:

i7-7700k (4 core/8 thread) and overclocking it to ~4.8-5ghz with 16GB of DDR4-2400+mhz RAM. You'll likely need a good cooler (gonna cost probably $80+) to get this type of an overclock. It will be probably $200+ more expensive than the Ryzen option.

i7-8700k (6 core/12 thread) and overclocking similar to the 7700k with similar RAM. Pricing will probably be $100-150 more expensive than the 7700k option. Nevermind. This is not an option with the current inflated prices of parts.
