F-150 2014
5L.
Auto 6 speed
supercrew

So a week ago I did my brakes and I thought I had a waved rotor so I really changed everything, rotors, pads and regreased pins on calipers...

To realise that the vibration was still there when I brake at low speed and sometimes when I drive around 55-60 mph.

I put my winter tires when I did the brakes so I don’t think it could be from unbalanced tire.

My front tires are used on the inside, and completely (not 1 out of 2 threads) and a little more on the passenger side so this friday I got a appointment at garage to aligne it.

Do you guys think it could come from the miss-alignement ? Could it comes from a suspension problem ?

Thank you guys.

Well like said above, sometimes I can feel a slight vibration at 55-60 mph.

e/ I mean not always, but from time to time.

Does the steering steering wheel vibrate too?

Ive seen something similiar where we had to add grease to the driveshaft spline
Ford has a tsb on that too

Well I’m not exactly sure about the steering wheel but I’ll take notes tomorrow.
There is no vibration on the brake pedal.
Yeah I read about driveshaft and joints being over tolerances, but could this cause vibration when braking ?
The driveshaft or any power output parts could be plausible as the vibration can occur at certain speed sometimes and sometimes not. If there was a pothole hit right at the perfect point to start resonation in the driveshaft, could it start a resonance in the driveshaft ?

nah for the pothole
Driveshaft vibration occur when under load and leaving off the throttle and sometime when braking rear cuz rear wheel going different speed than the output shaft

I can feel the truck shaking this morning and I’m still not 100% about the steering wheel, I don’t know if it’s shaking or if it’s residual. Currently doing 97kph. I tried letting off the gas and manually downshift: the vibration goes away.

Was it that bad??

Also looks like not so much shaking at the moment but will know more by monday.

They said the mechanic had to « modify » the crossmember on right side. I guess by hitting it with a mace. In order to align it. Asked but no specific answer from the desk clerk.

I would bet its a hub. I had the same thing on my silverado, changed all rotors and pads etc and it was my hub assembly, changed them both out and it cleared right up.
