Getting rid of botters certainly does kill the game. The only point of playing diablo 2 in 2017 is pvp. Running meph manually over and over lost its appeal many many years ago to anyone without autism. Pvp is more fun/competitive with higher level chars with better gear. Higher level chars and better gear becomes cheaper/more easily obtainable with many bots running. This makes high end pvp possible without wasting your life mfing/lvling. The concept is actually quite simple

But banning someone for having a guy bot for a few days on their account 6 months ago so they didn’t have to spend 500 hours leveling is stupid af.
It would be different if the bans were instant and you didn’t waste a bunch of money/items for nothing.
