Hey guys last Saturday I purchased a 2008 gsx r600. It’s winter now so I’m trying to figure out what I need to do with my bike to keep it safe over the winter. Things I have done so far includes, 4x8 1 inch thick plywood for the bike to rest on so it doesn’t sit on concrete. I have discharged the battery and taken it off the motorcycle. I heard I need to empty the gas tank as well as the oil fluids and when season starts I should refill It while it was empty. Please help me out with what I need to do in order to protect my bike over the winter so when next season comes around I can truly ride my new bike

Umm... do you live at the north pole? Not sure if trolling ?

Fill it up with ethanol free gas and run it for a little while. Gas will store must fine over the winter.

If you discharged the battery completely you just ruined it. You should have disconnected it and put it on a battery tender.

Change the oil before you store it, leave it full.

Check the coolant with a cheap tester to make sure you have an adequate mixture for the temperature you expect to see. 50/50 is the normal ratio.

It is completely unnecessary unless you are storing it outside for 6 +months but you can buy fogging oil and lightly fog the cylinders.

I live in mass Usa. What I meant to say was I disconnect the battery and put it on my battery tender/charger not discharge the battery

Never did any of this shit when we lived in Wisconsin.

Park it, Throw some stable in the gas and change oil in the spring and let it eat.

It's an EFI bike, not like you need to worry about carbs gumming up or any of that.

Park it for the winter and in the Spring time, take it to a mechanic.

Hope this helps.

If you want?

Hell, I’d sneak my bike out any chance I had during the winter months

All I ever did was take the battery out, put it on a trickle charger, put some stabilizer in and in the spring clear any water out. I imagine you're fuel injected vs my older 1996 gsxr which was carb.

No issues, many many years of use.
