Hey guys,

So I’ve been shopping around and recently took order of a 2018 Dodge Charger scatpack. I’d been pretty split between the SRT and the Scatpack, but at the end of the day, the stealership didn’t want to work the price down on the SRT enough for me.. So I’m sticking with the RT..

This thread is dedicated to my car and the upgrades I plan on doing to it in the foreseeable future..

Here’s a quick list of the mods I want to do in some sort of chronological order.

1. Billet Catch Can
2. Tazer upgrade to unlock SRT track mode
3. 180 degree t-stat
4. Tune
5. Exhaust work to get rid of the weird valves in it..
6. 3000 stall converter
7. Extra pair of replica SRT wheels with 10.5 radials

I haven’t really tested out the car too much from a dig so I’m not 100% on the converter, but I’ve heard with the above upgrades, it gets your car in the high 11s “claimed mid 12s right now”

We’ll see though.. A few more weeks and it’ll be mine :3.

I had no issues 😂, I’m also not circuit racing my DD. I wanted a car big enough to tote around my family in that is fun to drive and has a decent amount of features.

I hope you like it. The converter will wake it up big time and have little to no effect on fuel economy. City mileage may drop 2mpg or so.

Converter will be a huge help. These new hemi's are pretty gutless down low. They are kind of an on/off switch. Either it's lugging around or screaming at 6500rpm. Not much in between.

These also respond quite well to boost ^_^

Skip the spray, they don't like that very much on stock rings. you might be able to flirt with a 50 or 75 shot for a little while but not long.

I’m going to probably stay away from any induction for now, maybe way down the road when I get my next DD I’ll toy with that idea.. Or just say fuck it 5 years down the road and trade it in for a Hellcat..

And yeah, what I’ve heard is 1st gear is basically non existent on these cars since traction is impossible through the gear, so I figured a nice combo would be the torque converter “the band starts around 3400 rpm I believe” and some drag radials.. That alone should put her in the low 12s/high 11s..

We’ll see!

Ya man, I figured the converter and a new set of rubber on the back would be the best bet for instant power without fucking with the car too much.

You will have to get it tuned after the converter if you want the trans to work right. It will probably try to stack shift without a tune.

I think it launches around 2500 as it sits, so hopefully the extra 500 won’t throw the trans and pcm in a complete loop lol.

I was thinking about just snagging a PCM from diablo sport and having them flash it for my car rather than getting a tune at a shop.. We’ll see though

Most converters will flash 15-20% higher than the rated speed when leaving off dead idle or downshifting. If you brake torque it rpm will be closer to the rating. I'd expect a 3000rpm stall to hit 3400-3500 WOT off idle.

If it was a GM car I could tell you if it would work or not. I haven't the faintest clue how the trans tune looks on the dodge pcm.
