it can't happen they said.... until you proved each "reason" wrong logically.

it won't happen they said....until the sub count got low and people complained enough.

fucking hyped, can't wait. won't touch a priv server ever again if this is even semi-decent. no reason to invest time on them any more even if vanilla retail takes a year or more.

I'm hyped too. I just wonder if it's only vanilla and if/when they'll roll out other expansions.

Indeed. I wonder if they will release Naxxramas 40-man and all previous raid from the beginning, or if they will release everything gradually. And will Scarab Lord still be one per server?
And also if they will be continue releasing expansions, or if it will just remain vanilla forever (time to farm Corrupt Ashbringer and other naxx 40 goodies, if they continue lol)
Would also be interesting to know if they'll include arena, even though that was introduced in TBC.

They could do something like D2 with season and resets. Not sure the specifics of how they could do it since no one is going to level from 1-60+ each season, but maybe just a reset to max level with a set of greens.

Is this going to be a stand alone game or an addition to the already purchased retail? Will it go against the 50 character cap on an account if it’s attached? Is there any real information or all just speculation since they announced they plan on releasing classic?

My guess is it will be an addition to the already purchased retail. MY GUESS.
Information will continue to trickle in, we will have to be patient with this. At least it's coming though!

I'm assuming as long as you have an active subscription, you will have access to the classic server(s)? I'm also assuming there will be more than one realm, lol. I can't see them making people buy a whole new game for it, that just seems stupid to me.

Since they announced it as "World of Warcraft: Classic" that makes it seem like either an expansion or a new game. And if they are putting all their time and money into recreating this then it seems probable that they will have to either charge for a re-release or for an "expansion" for the game.

I don't necessarily think they're putting ALL of their time and money into this, remember they have an expansion to launch too. Despite number drops, lotta people still play retail.

We will find out in the next few weeks, months, or even more at Blizzcon this weekend. However what makes the most sense to me, is you need to purchase World of Warcraft, and have am active subscription to the game and you will be able to play classic servers. Who knows, I could end up being totally wrong lol. Kind of like Old School RuneScape.
