The problem with finding anime that's truly a cut above the rest, is that you'll forever compare other shows to it and they won't stack up. I wish Death note wasn't one of the first Animes I watched, since it mostly ruined crime and thriller genres for me, and then I'm grateful that I waited so long to watch HxH, because it made other Shonen type shows seem pretty awesome and then I got to see how good they could be at their best.
