I think he is mixing up the Iratus Bug experiments plot which created the Wraith, and the Replica experiments plot, which created the Replicants.
The Wrath ships are biological and totally alien compared to the Ancients ships.
Replicator ships are like Ancient ships, pretty much identical, only everything was better, faster, stronger.
