Currently doing a twinked playthrough on a melee sorc, wondering what gear would be fun to use? maybe vipermagi+hellplague longsword, thats about all i can think of rn. what should i aim for on a melee sorc?

Well, as soon as you hit level 43 you could use the Passion runeword so you can Zeal. Other than that you can use pretty much anything you want. This game is not even hard if you start with nothing at all, so if you give yourself access to w/e uniques and runewords you want as you are doing, then you should be finished the game in a day with minimal effort.
