missiles with % chance to pierce can hit up to 5 targets, with the same % chance to be destroyed on each target they collide with
autopierce missiles like lightning can hit any number of targets

so for example, a lightning fury can release bolts up to 5 times if it pierces 4 times, hitting 5 targets. But the bolts it releases are autohit and can hit any number of monsters in their way
