I've debated whether its more useful to have BS that can be better at budging up a defensive trapper or hammerdin or whatever who stops chasing you and stays at a distance, when the BS might make him aggressive, whereas max bone armor can be relevant for hedging against the 1-2 clip hits a BvC might get off on you with a namelock telewhirl before he's out of range again, and with your extremely low life, having a sizeable bone armor can be pretty significant for hedging against whirlwind, GA/multi, charge, etc when it actually connects.
I think in practical terms, BS is so rarely needed for actually harming anyone and more often its just enough to aggravate them even if it deals only 100 HP in damage as long as you can repeat it indefinitely it will accomplish its purpose, whereas every point of bone armor helps in the matchups where its relevant.
hence for a purely practical build I think BA is better
but its a trangs nec, so fuck practicality, I built with an angelics + blackbogs + doom + frostwind in my stash, I go around meleeing people, breathing ice, reviving vampires, exploding zombie corpses on amp damaged fools, etc.
