I got the book "Programming Practices and Principles using c++". I am working my way through it. Kind of slow. I had 0 experience programming. I am learning a lot though, and was wondering if anyone had a similar story to me.

It would be nice to be able to connect with a good source.

You should start with C, its the same language, but not object oriented.

If you don't know what object oriented is, then you should really just stick with learning C at first.

I'm taking C++ this semester and it's great. For tools, Pluralsight is awesome and Youtube has some good channels hosted by great teachers.

Thanks, I'm already halfway done with the class. I have a book and also use the above mentioned tools, but I'll check out the reddit thing too. Currently working on a text adventure rpg for one of our homework projects.
