Is it worth playing if I can only play casually? Like I am an american stationed in Germany because of the military will I be able to find a casual guild that enjoys playing and just having a good time? I haven't played since WotLK so I feel like I am behind the curve?

Since youre in germany, you'll probably want to play on EU servers, because latency reasons
Think about that, since you also probably wanna get back to the game once youre in the US again

he can transfer his stuff to NA once he is back in america, just have to ask the GM's, they can do it once per account.

Never had any latency issues in past 4 years. Only the time zone difference can be annoying if you plan on raiding..

I can second this. Lived in UK for a year and had no latency concerns. European ISPs are far superior and surprisingly cheap. $25 a month there gives double the internet you get here for $80 a month. Plus I don't believe European companies do that communal sharing crap that American companies do where they sometimes lend some of your bandwidth to your neighbors.

I wont digress any further. Short answer is NA region is fine to play from Europe. Plenty of casual guilds are out there. You can also just solo a lot of the content you missed and work on the transmog/pet/mount/achieve/toy collections while also doing some new content every week.
