they tried to, but the case lost steam after the proponents of such bans were unable to prepare their meals without knives and reach the courts without vehicles...

Even had this happened yesterday, you've provided no prompt aside from something occurred.

Why did you post this thread? What did you want to discuss? Do you consider yourself news literate, and how does that square with falling into a Facebook feed grandma trap? Do you consider this sort of snowballing of contemporaneous stranger danger sensationalism worthwhile, or is it a disingenuous clicks grab?

Interestingly, many countries ban knives above a certain length.
