Trying to figure out if there's any way around this issue. Playing D2:LoD offline (single player) and FPS is consistently dropping to 1-10, even while in town. Doesnt really make sense considering I can play WoW/Dota 2/League of Legends with minimal issues. I can't play them on ridiculous settings or anything but I'd imagine these are much more demanding than D2. My laptop isn't the greatest ever but it should be able to run D2 offline..

I've tried uninstalling all other games, making sure no other programs were running simulataneously (going as far as to not even open google chrome when playing..), and even tried glide wrapper but I can't seem to solve the issue. I've updated the drivers too. Sometimes I can play and seemingly have no issues at all for a while then it'll start dropping again.

Any help appreciated, I'm not the most tech savy guy :/
Can provide any information about the laptop itself needed, lmk.

E: I've considered reformatting but I don't see why that would resolve the issue and I'd hate to waste the time, I rarely have time to play as it is.

Is the game running the latest available patch version? https://battle.net/support/en/article/7836
And what operating system, and version, are you using?

Uninstall then reinstall through the battle.net downloader and let it update

If that doesn't work,
Try running compatibility mode for windows XP (This has fixed many a D2 issue for me in the past)

You can save your single player characters by copying the files in C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Save somewhere else then putting them back after the re-install

Already have compatibility mode for XP enabled. Tried both service packs.

I am, looks better but didn't fix the FPS issue.
E: tried multiple different config settings for glide as well.
