after my 2600k thread

i relly don't think it's worth the upgrade tbh i mean fuck that's a lot of money for not really that much NOTICEABLE performance (yea some applications and gems will be 20-40% faster), but meh...

fuck it tbh

sticking to my 2600k

not hyped anymore

Intel just refuses to take risks anymore ever since the one they made in 2000 that failed. They came back to the pentium III core and have been building on it ever since to this day, meanwhile AMD is the one producing brand new archs and taking risks all the time, first with K8 then with Bulldozer and now Ryzen. I would wait til Intel is forced to finally release a new core to upgrade, the one they're on now has long since plateaued but their competitor has so much room to grow and improve it is insane. Ryzen is starting from the same square PIII did in the 90's and look how far it came since.

Hopefully intel haven't fired all their talented engineers with all the jobs they've cut.

i guess cannon lake is apparently where we'll c the noticeable "ipc" gains because of the 10nm ?

honestly, prob just gonna ride it out on the 2600k iuno how long it wil take me with my rx 480 at 1080p gaming

Usually shrink + minimal boost is what we've been seeing.
All Intel needs to do is use proper TIM...
