Looking for someone to help me with building my pc. I'm in the military and wanna either get a laptop or build a small but powerful desktop. Something I could easily ship to myself or take on a plane. It'll be used for gaming, recording, editing, rendering, animation, cad work and some other stuff. I was thinking of something like a I7 7820X or an R7 1800X. Something that is good for gaming but also good for editing and rendering. Also looking for 32 GB of Ram(This is a must), as that should be enough. Also looking for a 1TB M.2 ssd and a 2-4TB HDD. Also want a 1080TI, just one of them. No need for sli. The keyboard, mouse and monitor I already have. If someone could put some part lists together that would be very much appreciated.

I was in the military for 7 years. Repeated travel is likely. I would look into a ruggedized laptop, if it were me.

Not sure if it changes anything, but my mos is Bulk Fuel Specialist. Am I more likely or less likely to travel?

I would assume they have fuel needs everywhere they have bases.

But the point is that desktop computers don't ship or travel on planes very well. Unless they are completely disassembled and shipped in their component boxes.
Don't worry though, others will have builds for you.

IMO the way to go while in the service..is a ruggedizewd laptop.

For laptops, I would still like dual 1080s, or a 1080ti. Would like at least a 7700K(Cutting it close) but would prefer a 7820X or something like that. Want around 3TB of storage with 1TB being an M.2 SSD. Would also like 32GB of ram and a 4K display with Gsync. Budget is $4,500.

This can be costomized after your needs:

In my opinion
QHD 120hz > 4k 60hz. Specially on a 17.3" monitor
If you wanna go all in on it the price will be 4995$. But this is also with 64GB RAM, additional cooling options. 1TB NVME SSD+2TB HDD.
If you are okay with an regular 1TB m.2 SSD instead of NVME and 32GB RAM you get down in your budget.
