Pretty much this

Problem with fighting games in general is 2-3 months after release the average online opponent will be really good while new players get turned off

tekken is the largest it's ever been lol. you can walk into literally any arcade and see all the tekken 7 stations packed with lines, and the console and pc releases are really good, tournament entry is still good pretty much everywhere too.

tekken 7 requires a enormous amount of time to be good at, probably more than any other fighting game, it's a game of information and lab work, not knowing a matchup in other games you can kinda skirt around it and get by off fundamentals, in tekken it leads to death.

Yeah sure, let me walk down the street to an Arcade that hasn't been around since the mid-90's.

ignorance lol, but even if you don't support your local meetups, there is a huge offline scene for fighting games almost in every county in every state, and it's just as big in canada if you live in metropolitan areas, arcades are used as venue's for meetups sometimes, but it's also done at peoples houses or at stores owned by somebody in the FGC

what other fighting game has this amount of depth, besides maybe guilty gear? not many lol.

people not willing to put in work need not apply to tekken, it will consume your soul.

this is my local meetup in Fort Worth, TX, we aren't even honestly THAT big of a meetup place, theres def way larger, but we are consistently here like 3 days a week grinding it out, places like this exist everywhere, if you REALLY want to get good at fighting games, this is how you do it. you will hit a wall playing online and won't be able to go any further that way.

I played the shit out of tekken revolution and watched a few tournaments and stuff

look, my Bob will pwn any kazuya, Jin, Steve Fox, Jun kazama, LiLi, anything you throw at me....

but then they pulled out and it kinda frustrated me, haven't picked up Tekken 7 yet, but when I do I guarantee you after getting my skills back I will play with you
