I think you got the wrong game. There is no crafting or best starting stuff. You find whatever you can.

Armor and helm are tiered by levels (1, 2, 3). Durability doe not affect effectiveness. Level 3 helm with 1 durability will still protect full amount.
Ext. Quickdraw > Extended > Quickdraw magazines
I prefer vertical grip to get more hits in vertically. Guns don't veer left/right enough to make you completely miss unless you're full spraying.
Don't use M4 tactical stock, it makes shots veer right instead of straight up.
Compensators for close range, flashhider/suppressor for long.
5.56 guns >7.62 for long range as 5.56 bullets travel faster unless using sniper.
UMP/SCAR are probably the best for close/medium range. M16/Mini14/Kar for long.

The helmets, armors, backpacks are literally "level 1" "level 2" "level 3"
It's pretty obvious

Compensator is better than flash hider in every range.

SCAR does the lowest DPS of all the ARs in close range. People like it for mid-long range because of the low recoil so you spam more shots.
For close range M16 has the highest DPS but people like AK because it takes 1 less hit to kill than the other ARs.

Long range you're doing single shots which is very easy to control making a comp not needed. Flash/Supp hides flash making it a bit harder for enemies to spot your exact location.
Scar and M4 have almost identical recoil. What's most significant are their deviations and spread in hipfire/3PP aim, Scar being the superior. Hence why it's better close/medium as you usually don't ADS on very close or sudden encounters. DPS is insignificant in almost all cases as you would rarely have a situation where two people firing ARs full auto at the exact same time at each other and all shots hit.

Scar is my favorite for medium range because of the handling
But close range the deviation shouldn't matter because you shouldn't be missing lol

Also the flash hider does almost nothing. Everyone will see you shooting in 99% of cases once they start looking at your direction. It's better to have the compensator on there for when you inevitably get into a mid range fight.
