So my gf drives a 2000 venture, one day she drove 45 mins one way, in spent maybe 10-15 mins with engine off when she got there, and on the way home the van started to overheat, she pulled over before it got near redline, notice all the coolant was stuck in the resivor, we had it looked at, they told us it was a bad thermostat, and it needed a coolant flush due to it look bad.

We paid for the new thermostat and a coolant flush and it needed a fresh tune up due to system light said back spark on cylinder 2.

after doing the flush etc next day, it was still overheating, we assume he didn't bleed it, well i guess he did, when i pull the radiator cap off and start the car
you can see the radiator bubbling and boiling up

would this be a bad water pump? bad head gasket? there is no coolant leak anywhere, no creamy stuff in the dipstick.

even after doing a new spark plugs/wires/etc, van still running like shit and overheating still.

the fan's were only coming on at 3/4+ mark due to bad sensor, i have replaced the temp sensor and the fans work fine ( fans work fine with unplug also )

could there still be air pocket's in it?, clogged radiator ? or a for sure 100% blown gasket?

If you put heat blower to max does the temp go down?

Also you have those 2 screw on water outlets try to open them up to see if theres any air coming out

If you dont get any heat you have air in your cooling system or your heater core is stuck

kinda odd cuz if you have a bad head gasket you'll always have air in the system

hard to pull a clear diagnostic on the internet tho

Pressurize the cooling system and see if you have a bad head gasket.
