Guys Klay Thompson had that 37 pt quarter, his prime, even if it was just a quarter, was much better than Wade during 2008/2009.

Speaking of that quarter, 37 points in 12 minutes is just 0.05 points per second. TMac had 13 in 35 seconds, which is way better at 0.37 points per second.
TMac best prime, no question.

Bad analogy.

One season is more than long enough to be considered a peak.

That time Horford scored a put back basket off his own offensive rebound was a godly peak. He averaged 1 rebound per 0.000000000026 career minutes during that peak period.

An unmatched feat.

Points aren't everything, and if you account for Wade also averaging 3 more APG than Kobe, Wade created more points than Kobe did, and more efficiently.

You're telling me Average 35 isn't a big deal compare to 30? Many many players had averaged 30 before. Not many averaged 35 a season.

actually a truer way to determine efficient scoring would be to contrast it to points allowed by that player. kinda like a ratio between points accounted for : points allowed. because at the end of the day, a fg% doesn't determine if you win. the most efficient way to win is to score points at a higher rate than your opponent.

but it's kinda hard to determine that for individual players because evaluating defense often involves the entire team as a whole

"Peak" and "prime" to me are distinct. "Peak" usually refers to a player's peak season.

Though either way, Wade's 2-year "peak" was also > Kobe's.

Making it 3-year Kobe moves above him probably because Wade never had 3 consecutive great years. He had two discrete 2-year peaks.

Yeah until player tracking statistical analysis advances more it's difficult to really evaluate a player's individual defense. PT-PM does a decent job.

Wow what an astute revelation. And here I was thinking a game of basketball was hinged on the direct result of an individual. Well I'll be
