don't listen to cocoo, that's not enough for a threadripper build realistically. $100 threadripper motherboard, Lol. No storage or case either.

/e maybe if you didnt need a monitor it would be doable

Didn't check a threadripper mobo and realizing it was minimum $300.

Come christmas time it'll meet your budget :O guranteed.

I thought he would have a case/storage considering he has an OS. Thought it was implied.

Is there any huge benefit to going threadripper though? Why not just do cheaper ryzen processor and with the saved money on that and mobo do like 1080 ti sli or something?
I'm not very read up on ryzen stuff so I may not be understanding properly haha. I need to do more research.

tl;dr
Don't bother for "long term" builds.
you can get a maxed computer for current games around $1600
invest $1400 and with the lowest interest rate in a first world country, and in 4 years you can buy another $1500 rig.
but by then iphone 11 is going to need a $1500 down payment and $400 monthly, probably.

Best desktop processor on the market atm,the number of cores is off the charts, even beats the best thing intel currently has. Ryzen's aren't bad but if you look at the other guy's build he doesn't utilize your full budget and at that rate you could get an intel build which would outperform the ryzen build.

Wait wtf? You got 3000 to spend and you put 1000 on a sub 140hz monitor and only 300 on cpu?
Just why

Also why game on 4k resolution and shit but use 30$ headphones??
I used to buy cheap headsets/headphones untill i got a 230$ senheinser headphone and a standalone standup mic and im not going back to 'gaming' headsets lmao

Im not trying to be rude or anything i just dont see how you can spend 1000bucks on your display but only 300 on cpu and 30 on audio lmao

Well I'm guessing you didn't quite read the whole original post. At least half the reason I am getting this compute (as well as a 34 inch 1440p monitor) is for the line of work I do. I need more screen real estate, not absurdly fast refresh rates or mhz.
I do a lot of work with coding, excel spreadsheets, ETL transformations, etc. I ended up getting a samsung cf791 (On sale for $580) for now until I actually build the computer just so my laptop resolution can match the monitor so I don't have to deal with resizing issues.

As for the headphones. I've never tried senheiser, but I have tried $40 and $250 gaming headsets and don't see much a difference. So maybe I should look into that.

My actual build has since been updated from the OP. Feel free to leave an actual build for me if you have suggestions

what? this is for gaming
more coars doesnt equal gaming lol
and intels 14 core beats amds 16core but not at price

op if gaming at that resolution you best off with ryzen 1700 and 1080ti,
no need x version you can clock it to 3.8 yourself
and you can get windows 10 pro alot cheaper
